World Card Making Day - Yesterday

Hope you all had a crafty good day yesterday. Although I spent a little time card making it would have been nice to spend the whole day playing but family life got in the way. Here is my small contribution to the day:-

There were a couple more but I wasn't happy with the outcome. Perhaps I will alter them and then post them at a latter date.

On another note I am now starting to think about Christmas. One of the ladies on the In Love With Stampin forum made this:-

It was made by Carol Houghton and her blog can be found at http://crescentsampin.blogspot.com/
She has kindly posted a free tutorial on how to make this beautiful gift. I shall definitely be attempting this project.

Well enough from me, I must start the day. Will try and post again later.

Happy crafting.

World Card Making Day 2010

I know it has been over a year since I last posted (where does the time go), but as you can see from the logo above it is a special day tomorrow and what better day to restart blogging about card making. There are a few blog hops and I can't wait to see what will be created by fellow crafters. I will be downloading what I make tomorrow so don't forget to stop by.
See you then.

I Am Back - (But under construction)

I have been away far too long from here. Started off well, like I always do and then fall by the wayside. This time however, I am back in the saddle and learning new tricks. I have made some adjustments to the site and it does look more attractive. I am learning all the time so hopefully there will be more to come.

I have continued to make cards for friends and work colleagues - here are a couple of photographs

I must either learn to take better photographs or purchase another camera as these pictures do not do the cards justice.

The dark brown circles and the band going down the card is in a lovely dark, rich, glittery chocolate brown. Loved it so much used it on the following card also.

The small dark circles are glitter paper and the star burst around the '40th' both made with punches.

Must also get in to the habit of photographing every card I make as theses are only a small sample of those given.

I will be making a daily entry from now on so until tomorrow:-

Thanks for stopping bye.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all. Hope you had a good start to 2009. Have decided not to start any changes I want to make until after my major event (as mentioned in a previous posting - if you don't know what I am referring to you will have to read my previous posts hahaha).

I received two cards from family members in Canada today to add to the pile waiting to be opened on Monday. I have been quite good this year - nothing opened or will be opened until the big day.

Made half a dozen New Year cards, all the same as below:

I seem to have used a lot of burgundy colours in my card making this year, mind you it is my favourite colour. (what I meant to say is recently - not this year, as we are only into the third day of this year). Even the ribbons I have purchased seems to be wine coloured. Also I just love using ribbon at the moment - what's that all about? Every project seems to have ribbon on it.

It is my wish to purchase a decent camcorder, record my card making efforts and post them on line for others to see, comment on, get inspiration from or just have a good old laugh at. I am still adding to my craft stash and have not used as much as I intended to over the Christmas period but I aim to change all that in the next few weeks. I am going to make cards in batches instead of one at a time like I usually do. Maybe box them up or package them in some way as a ready made gift or at least have cards at hand for when I need one in an emergency.

Well I am back to work next week and my son back at school. Lets hope I will be more organised this year than last. My sister had a birthday on the 1st January, we were at a 7th birthday party last Tuesday, my cousin has his big day on the 4th (he's a day older than me), my big day is on the 5th and we will be at another 7th birthday party on the 10th January. The year seems to have started a bit hectic and where is the time going? Two weeks away from work seems to have gone in a flash.

Well lets make the most of the little free time I have left. Will post again later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Only 3 Days To Go

Well the big day is almost here. Are we all ready? I wish I was. All the decorations are finally up. Still have presents to wrap but can see me doing that on Christmas eve.

I will be celebrating a big birthday at the beginning of January and thought I had got away without any fuss at work. I am on leave on the actual day and said I would celebrate the day I return (which is the day after) but elected to have my birthday cards on my last working day before the holiday. Arrived at work to be greeted by photos of me aligning the entrance and balloons and banners around my desk.

My only saving grace is that there are two other friends who will reach the same milestone early next year so we are having a joint birthday bash. It was a little difficult to distinguish birthday cards from Christmas cards and I still don't think I have it right. Oh well never mind.

Almost forgot to post the picture of the box/bags that I made for work so here it is:

I filled them with chocolates and think they were well received. I made about 15 in total and gave them out instead of cards. They went to immediate work colleagues and friends only.

The weather here is a little confusing. We have had sunshine most of the day and the forecast is No Snow! It is scarily mild weather for this time of year which makes me wonder what is to come.

I am in the mood to wrap presents now so maybe I'll sneak away and do that.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Dinner at School

As usual many memories came flooding back as I lined up at the kitchen hatch to get my tray of food. The normal christmas fare was on offer and three choices of pudding - yum, yum. Although I don't like christmas pudding or mince pies but welcomed the chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

I went along armed with christmas hats and tinsel for us to adorn ourselves with and was glad that I did. The hall did have a large christmas tree in the corner but that was the extent of the decorations. Last year we had table decorations which made it a bit more festive but no such luxury this year. At least we looked the part, me with my flashing earings and my son with his santa hat and tinsel wrapped around his tie.

Since my last post not only have I done my sons cards but have also made some gift boxes to give to my colleagues at work. (pictures to follow) Still have to make more cards though.

Well only 10 days till the big day - and five left till I break up from work (woo hoo). I still have to get my secret santa gift, put up the rest of the decorations at home and finish making my cards for work and family - no pressure there then!!!!

Oh well time to get on.

Thanks for stopping by.

Only 16 Days to Christmas

I can't believe it. Where has the time gone. I still have my sons christmas cards to make for his school chums - all 25 of them. Plus the remainder of my own for work. Oh well it happens every year. Last minuite rush again.

Unfortunately my nephew still has my camera so I am still unable to showcase any of my work. I think that this will be the last time I let him borrow it as he never returns it when he says he will.

This is a short post today as I am doing this before starting my day. I was off work yesterday as I wasn't feeling too good. Feeling slightly better but as It's christmas dinner for parents at my son's school have to show willing. Will write more tomorrow till then ............

Thanks for stopping by.
